richmond gears
i was wondering, because i just picked up a set of the 4.10's. what do people think about these gears?
my mechanic just refused to install them. he told me he's seen a lot of research over the years that show that richmond gears expand over time and will destroy the bearings and eat up the rear end. he said they have to constantly be reset.
can anyone verify any of this info. im not looking for "buy frpp." thanks!

RE: richmond gears
I have installed hundreds of gears over the years and the only gear I will install other than the Motorsport gears are Richmonds
The rumor always was that they build them for Ford and they look identical including markings
I have a set of 3.73 Richmond gears to install in my Shelby and I have no problems with them.

RE: richmond gears
thank you very much. you've put my fears to rest. this mechanic that told me that is one hell of a pickle kisser. he proceeded to tell me "buy gears from my cousin, and i'll install them" and "put your richmond's on e-bay asap"
