My hood scoop is doing the same thing to my vinyl racing stripes. 2nd time actually.

That's messed up. It looks to be caused because of the vibration of the hood, and the elastic of the stripes. When they get hot, they get soft and kind of move or expand and contract. Before replaceing them, I might try to Cut around the scoop with an exacto knife and see if I could get it to lay down with a blow dryer or heat gun.

I tried to get Rob at Baltimore Street Mods to come out with stripes that are cut out around the outside of the scoop but he didn't want to for some reason. Well actually he said he didn't have a car with the hood scoop so he could mock it up. Maybe some day when he gets more flack or another company sees the need.

Grab the stock hood without the scoop and have the dealer install a shaker setup for half price to offset the PITA Ford has caused you.
When I was picking up my 07 I was sitting in a chair next to a black GT500 and was amazed at the amount of orange peel that car had. I told one of the salesmen that if I were paying over $50K for a Mustang I sure in the hell wouldn't accept a car with that bad of a paint job from the factory.

It would probably make it tougher to install.

had this same problem with the OEM tape stripes below the scoop bunching.
This is on new on the lot for sale as new stangs. Saw maybe 50
of them with 8 or so not bunching, yet.[:@]
Oh yea, orange peel is common on my 07. Not noticable
from a distance but it stares right at you while you are waxing.

Go for #3 .It's your BEST option. Let them change hoods and your down the road. I did this with a new Ranger. The tailgate had some dirt in the paint,I took it to the SALES manager and he had it swapped for another right off the lot.I was on my way and happy.I guess he wanted my business again,......and he got it............

yeah i really like the look of the scoop and money for an aftermarket hood is out with buying the house and what not, but it is really sad to see Ford has this kinda of poor quality, sighs, if it weren't for the mustang being what it is, bad ***, i would not own a ford....
not sure, thinking #2 or #3...
