RE: Question on 4:10 Gears

Well you say you won't race but I think you're kidding yourself. So I'll give you my "stage one" mod list: CAI/tuner combo (good bang for the buck), we've already discussed the 4.10s, also some rear upper/lower ca's (get rid of that wheel hop) and some drag radials (if you're serious about not running the car, get some nittos...they stick well on the street and are a hard compound so they shouldn't wear out too quickly)...
...also IMO LT's are not a good bang for the buck and unless you plan on going FI or just love the sound of them, put them on the back burner and do the stage one mods first. You're gonna spin and hop regardless of how and where you drive it...
...p.s. I turn 2750rpms at 80mphwith 4.10s, MT and went to a 40 series DR off a 55 series street tire so I'm really closer to 4.30...not too bad...

RE: Question on 4:10 Gears

I have 4.10's in my car and I love them, You will feel a big difference in the car. No HP difference your are just revving up so much quicker and it will feel like it pulls a lot better. I have no problem with them as my DD. just make sure that when you installed them get them installed by someone who knows what they are doing

Can you out run that GT with the 700 horses? Either way that is a Nasty Stang.

(Tried Copying a picture from his pictures but didn't appear) The GT I was referring to was a Ford GT with what 550 horses?
It would be a good race, since I'm putting down about 750 RWTQ (which wins races)...

I wanted to give you some more mod advice. If you drive your car flappin balls out, you might want to consider some rear ca's if you're getting any wheel hop, and a kmember brace w/ torque limiters if you're noticing any missed shifts at wot near redline. The ca's can save you the trouble of a busted housing and the brace/limiters can save your tranny (my tranny #1 lasted a whopping 3 mos and 3500 miles w/o the brace/limiters...I was missing/crunching second like crazy going 1st-2nd at redline)[:@]

I posted this thread to help people calculate engine speed. MPH, etc. with a specific gear ratio. Credit goes out to Muscle Car Review magazine. Hope it helps!
