I would definately locktite as many openings as possible. Start with the holes where your keys go in, then proceed to the gas cap. After that maybe you might want to put it on all of the bolts for the entire car.

Let's see... OP: The stock pan is fine and 6qt's for normal cooling. Also, I believe these s197's also already have a windage (sp?) tray so you don't need to concern yourself with that. If I could ask, what prompted your interest? i.e. looking to keep oil in the rightarea of the panduring hard launch or larger capacity for overall cooling?

Oil is half the story in cooling. The other half is coolant.
6 quarts in a 4.6L is fairly unimpressive. My 3.0 Jag took 6 quarts as it was.... I wouldnt mind having a 9 quart setup to effectively cool here in Arizona, but thats overkill, but something bigger than this stock setupwould make more sense.

You are so correct. Try Canton racing they have oil pans. ouch......that hurt........
