Just bought a 2005 gt. Too much power?

RE: Just bought a 2005 gt. Too much power?
I normally post in the Classic Mustangs forum, but I happened to be browsing, and had to comment on this...
That's a pretty serious lawsuit. The money is nice, but nothing can really make up for the inconvienence / discomfort / pain. If it gives you any comfort, my girlfriend's father was in a car accident, and told he'd never walk again. He has a metal rod supporting part of his spine now, is in some obvious pain, but still walks and does most of his own work without much problem. Seeing a guy smaller than myself (5'9) lifting a transmission like it's no big deal, AND knowing that he "isn't supposed to be walking" is definately a sight to see.
Good luck on the recovery, I hope everything works out for you.

Hey, bazguitarman,
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but as I'm sure your lawyer will tell you, don't talk about your case at all, especially on forums on the internet. All this leaves a paper trail and words you type today can come back to bite you in the butt tomorrow! In any event, hope all goes well with your surgery and suit!

OP, I can see how going from an sn95 4.6 2v (14.9-15.8 bone stock) to an s197 4.6 3v (13.5 stock) can be quite a rush, but you'll settle in and demand more power soon enough.
My recommended first mods list for stick shifts is a CAI/tuner combo, drag radials, 4.10 gears and rear upper/lower control arms. Definitely night and day difference in acceleration, plus your tires will be planted instead of spinning and hopping all over the place.
Anyway, enjoy your purchase.

Welcome to the S197 tech forums! I'm sure that after you drive your new baby awhile you will be looking to mod her. We all started out like you, I was very impressed with mine, but after awhile I got the bug and began the process of the mods. It's really hard not to. Anyway good luck with resisting the urge!

Why be like every other 300HP Mustang when you can be a 475HP one!! The speed bug has bitten me and no point doing a 93 tune, exhaust, etc, FIRST -I'll doother mods to compliment the S/C afterwards. Bang for you buck!

Jesus Christ. My new GT manual gives with out a shadow of a doubt, the most incredible driving experience of my life. One thing really surprised me. It is SO bloody powerful. I spin (not just chirp) both 2nd and 3rd gears. At the third gear, the rear end almost got away from me, in fact (thank you stability control).
Um.. Since when can a GT Spin 3rd gear stock?.. I cant even get a chirp redlining into 3rd..

My best and only mod so far has been a "mind tune"
If my car starts to feel slow...I just hop in my 84 F250 and drive it around for a while....you can't even imagine how fast these cars feel after doing 0-60 in 18 seconds... [:-]
