My weekend taking it in the chin

My CDC Classic Chin showed up at my office Friday so I went out and got my paints and clear and fired up the commpressor. Instead of the double sided tape I went a different route with chrome socket head cap screws and washers. Don't flame me for the plate holder. Just got the car and keep forgeting to pick up a new holder. Bare plates goona scratch the clear in the front due to the bend in the nose. Somewhat pleased with the outcome. Was thinking bout doing the center section black. Maybe this winter while shes hibernating.

Looks good. Just wondering why did you use screws??? The 3m works just fine. As a matter a fact mines been on for over 9 months now with just the two screws on either side. No 3m at all. That thing isn't going anywhere. If anything you want it to give a little so if you go over a dip or steep driveway it gives intstead of taking the paint right off. Just my .02 on that.

Not a fan of the tape for this application. Want to be able to take it off with ease for whatever reasons. Removing the tape in that center section would lead to destroying something. Sure the end screws will hold it on, screws are short and only bite into plastic, but the center wont lay perfectlyflat and has to much play. Might be scary at 100+ mph. Tape or bolted it's flimsy plastic attached to a urethane bumper so as a whole it's not all that ridgid. I used chrome shcs with polised stainless finish washers and nuts. Gotta have long fingers to get the nuts on!

I like the look of the screws and caps... sets it off from the ordinary IMO. Impressive that you painted it yourself as well!!!

as for the plate... I used a pair of 'L' brackets inverted on top of each other to move the plate up and way from the bumper and clear the lower intercooler radiator a free flow of air.http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5...ation1ayq0.jpghttp://img292.imageshack.us/img292/3...cation3xa5.jpg

Don't say that too loudly, before you know it we'll have to have front plates too. Enjoy in silence.
