I hate the games the dealers play too. Ford of Dublin wanted me to pay msrp +5K for a GT order.. I recieved a reply from Hayward ford and he ordered one for 1K under msrp. Should be in at the end of Feb.. we will see. [sm=hail.gif]

I ordered a hard top with the IUP and that is the reason they said it is going to take so long. I am going to talk to the dealer and see if if is just messing with me or what!!!


I agree I like to do my own wear and tear on my car.

Game plan is I'm picking up my "Screaming Yellow" '05 GT tomorrow at high noon.

There were some logistics at the main shipping center, but, tomorrow appears to be the day, wife still unaware. Tomorrow afternoon shall be interesting. Tis a bummer that rain is on the agenda, would be fun to drive that yellar 'Stang around in the sun for awhile.

Weather just may hold out for you today, it looks like. I'll be watching the news for stories on a south bay man who disappeared shortly after buying his new car. Just changed the oil for the first time earlier in the week (1300 miles) with a synthetic blend, and will go full synthetic at 5000 miles. I still have only seen 1 other GT besides mine on the road, and only a few V6's. I also found the first scar--a slight chip in the hood, less than 1mm square, thanks to what I think was a CalTrans truck in front of me.

You're going to get a lot of looks--I have yet to see any Yellow '05s around. I'll be looking for you!

Mission accomplished! Screaming Yellow GT picked up at 1230hrs PST time today. Drove it carefully homeward bound. Knew wife had gone to hairdresser. I park the GMC in the garage for her so she does not mow down my Yamah FJR1300. Was planning to wait for to be back home, in house before I went home. Parked in a parking lot for a few. Idled closer to home, cell phone said she was on her way home. Idled to corner where I could see house. I see her pull up. I think. I decide GO FOR IT! drive down street she gets out of GMC. She see Screaming Yellow GT at curbside, hubby at wheel. She says "are you test driving that?". I say, "no,...we own it". She says "WHAT!!!". I say "we own it". She screams with WOW!, OH BOY!! stuff.

We took a drive.

Screaming yellow is what I ordered too.. but I'm still waiting =-/.. Its nice to have a wife that will be happy when you buy a car out of the blue. Its strang that I'm looking into forums for a car I dont own yet. =-)[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Not strange. I've been looking here for a couple of months. Last car was a BMW. What better way to find out how your future car is recieved by the actual drivers than to be hanging out here?

hahah.. true.. true.. I hope there is an area where people can post the upgrades they did to their car and directions.. that way we all can save money. I cant believe what companies want for a supercharger!!.. 5K?? when I had my 99 it was 2100.. how the hell did it double.. hahah...I'm still getting use to this site but the people seem really nice.
