Default RE: reeks like gas !

bump from the dead
issue is still not resolved.

both driver side and passenger side valve covers replaced
both driver side and passenger side valve cover gaskets replaced
lower intake gasket replaced

on order will be the right valve cover gasket as they think they didnt do it properly the 1st time

picked up the car today after the most recent diagnosis, got a CEL, took it back to the dealer, apparently when changing the intake gasket they blew a fuse tripping the light

a simple gasket replacement results in a blown fuse...good GOD! thank god for a warranty

Sounds like that dealership has no idea what's going on so they're just doing what ever they can (no matter how irrelevnt)...and they're sucking at it. [/align]

i keep getting the same answer from the shop foreman...
ford engineers tell us to...( enter action here )
because its a warranty repair, all actions must be approved by head office

i tried calling 2 other dealerships, but as soon as i explain to them that its been worked on 3 times, they give me the same response of stick with the current dealership as they know my car the best

and the ownage continues !

went to wash my car tonight, and there are **** loads of clear coat scuffs on both the fenders

either they put fender covers on a dirty fender and dragged them across / or they didnt even use them and just leaned on the damn fender when changing the covers

son of a f#&$ing bi*ch.

dealer will hear from me on monday....this is downright retarded.

Well, they finally sourced it asa manufactuer defect in the right cylinder head.
They ripped off the intake ( not air intake, but intake plenum between cylinder banks )and saw that there was section of metal that was bent around the area where the spark plug goes. Each time the cylinder fires, the gas fumes come out of the head
i cant quite wrap my head around that, but the part is on the way.

Off topic, my car is currently in the buysell and im looking for a truck now
enough of this BS

Are you saying you have a cylinder open to the air and they let you leave that way?
Or are you saying the rail doesnt match up to the valve cover. In which case you could have oil going onto a exhaust manifold (ie bring marshmellows).
Wait! I bet their saying the intake manifold isnt sealing to the head. But how on earth is that possible without a vac leak and check engine light?

PS Dont buy a 5.4L powered truck as it will have the exact same heads. Whatever you buy pick a dealer with a better service department.

lol

dealership has had my car for 2 weeks and its still not fixed
its a parade of excuses like wrong parts, or missing parts, or techs unavailable to complete the job
but, ive got a new cylinder head with the old valves and springs from the old head
i complained wanting a complete new head, but dealership said Ford wont pay for a entire assembly and there is nothing wrong with the valves or springs so im out of luck there

i currently havea Toyota Yaris as a rental car (paid by ford ) and it gets WICKED fuel economy.
40L for 620km and im beating the snot out of it.
HUGE contrast for the 60L from 280km i get from the stang hahaha
