I did the window switch plates silver like the interior trim with the IUP ... they turned out really nice and factory looking.

We guarantee customer satisfaction for a full year with no chips or paint pealing. Some people think it's an easy process but it really isn't. I tried painting it with a spray can but it doesn't turn out the same. The way we do it looks like it's OEM.

Ya, the stuff I had painted I took to my ford collision center. Still, I can see a friend jumping in and kickin the speaker grille, or throwing something in the cup holder, scratching the rim, or something of that like, you get the idea. Do you guys use an extra thick layer of clear coat or something? Guarantees definitely increase value.

As long as it looks professional, do it...the pics above look great.

OK, so I think Im going to go ahead and try to do this myself. I figure if I screw up i can always replace the part without breaking the bank. I found a local autopaint supply store that will custom mix a can of G9 paint (vista blue) for $15. I will also need to get a can of clear and some adhesion promotor?

Any sanding technice hints would be greatly appreciated.

Ill post some pics when I finish, but I want to take my time on this one.

from the looks of those parts i would say to do this. remember im the guy w/ the painted side mirrors in legend lime from the c.flmeet, they came out right. anyway sand it evenly all over in 150, then 220, then 320. then wipe em down real clean (wet paper towel worked for me). i didnt use adhesion coat and it came out fine. next i hit it real evenly with the primer spray. 1 coat, let it dry for15 min, then another coat. then when it felt dry to the touch i gently wet sanded (dish soap and warm water) with 420, that was about 30 minutes after the 2nd coat. be careful not to scratch it now, i did that on one mirror by accident, and despiteit beingperfectly smooth to the touch it came out w/ a visible scratch. even if it feels smooth but theres a scratch, it will show. if you should scratch while wet sanding by accident, sand it down smooth again and reprimer it. after it has been wet sanded wait about 3-4 hours and dry sand it with the 420. wipe it down again with wet paper towel and it's ready for the color coat, then the clear coat once that has dried. i'd recommend letting a body shop do the actual painting. my guy charged me $40 per mirror, so for all your parts i'd expect to pay around 100-150. it's worth it for the piece of mind. body painting is real hard. the color coat has to go on perfectly even on the first try, and so does the clear coat.

the prepping will likely take you all day since there is so many parts and dry sanding the primer has to be done 3-4 hours after the last coat of primer is applied. just keep working as some parts are drying.
