Default Thinking of Painting Some Interior Trim

I was thinking about painting the black plastic trim around my radio to match the exterior of my car (Vista Blue). I can either get the paint mixed at my local body shop or order an spray can online. Have any of you guys done this? I saw a car in 5.0 magazine that had the interior painted red to match the car and it looked great. Although I dont want to go as crazy as they did painting almost the entire interior. Ill prob just stick with the radio trim and maybe the center consol (but that might be too much). What do you guys think? Rice?

No, not rice at all. Like you've said, it'll only be the radio trim plate. Go for it, but get the stuff in a can(should be cheaper than getting some custom mixed) and experiment, maybe(dare I say) paint the power window surround trim plate? Saw a Tungsten Stage 3 Roush at the Knott's show last April with the interior color matched with Tungsten(looked great!). Do it and post pics!

What you should do is paint the silver on the dash to match the exterior. Looks great when people do that.

I offer the interior pieces painted to match the exterior paint to our customers. Here is an example on how it looks

I like the way that looks in the picture. I would love to have the same for my car. What would be the best route to get Tungsten Grey in a spray that I could do it myself?

We offer this package to our customers for $350.00 + install. We prep the parts, primer, and paint them. I have a full interior set that I have handy for customer's that are out of state. I would gladly do this for you if you like. Anyone can give me a call @ 619-596-1202 and I can have it painted any stock color. Remember 1st come 1st serve.

hmmm. i couldn't see my painter charging me more than $150 for all those parts if i brought them prepped, and that'sconservative (meaning, prolly would cost less). spray can of primer, $5. sand paper, $5. prep time 5-6 hours. the work is simple, just time consuming and tedious. i hope you guys make the clear coat thick. the only reason i haven't done this myself yet is that i know these parts would scratch fast inside the car. still, it's a hot look, and $350 is not bad at all to save you the headache of pulling parts off, sanding, priming, waiting, sanding some more, waiting some more, and then sanding some more again, and making sure it's smoothe as hell.
