Test drove a 2005 Got some questionsas
I drove a 2005 Today, It was quite diffrent. Thanks for for finnaly making a usefull headrest Anyways I embaresed my self trying to take off being used to a 2002 GT, I was letting off the cluctch and givin it gas and it wasnt doing anything.... I was like wtf... The clutch feels like a 4 cyc and the shifter felt so loose.... Anyways im probably going to be buying one of these beasts this week because I cant not wait on a cobra deal to come around any longer. What would I have to do to make the clutch feel better like my old car? It grabed so much better. And my shifter was so much more firm.. I just cant see my self slammin gears in this thing. Also do you think some 4.10s and a CAI, Exhaust/Tune and I could hang with some 2001 cobras. or ls1s?

RE: Test drove a 2005 Got some questionsas
I went from driving a '99 gt with performance chip to my '05 and was dissapointed with throttle response. The intake and tune made a world of difference! (Also, can't go wrong with the Hurst.) If your test drive '05 is a very early production, there's lots of speculation that Ford was very conservative with the stock tunes on early '05's.

Pickup a shifter from MGW and you'll have no more sloppy shifting problems. The CAI and tune will help with the trottle lag but the clutch is there to stay for the most part.

"With a build date of August 2004 we suspect our media car is one of the first 05's off the assembly line. Other publications have also indicated observing very conservative tunes on the early media cars - perhaps Ford was playing it safe until they had more run time data on the production engines. Whatever is the case, the dyno results hardly detracted from our experience with the car, and the 05's coming from the dealership seem to be holding nothing back. The dyno results we've seen show the manual GT's to be pulling hard to 6000 with air-fuel ratios in the 12.x range. With an aftermarket high-flow air intake and tune they are picking up as much as 30 horsepower to the rear-wheels."
