Help for a Black Stang owner. Paint oopsies.
I have a couple of scratches on my door. they are small but DEEP. You can tell because they actually appear white.
Now I can tell these wont simply buff out.
I'm afraid to use touch up paint myself being as where it is and my inexperience. Should I get a body shop to touch up paint it or what?
Is that the best thing to use?
I had some on my very bottom front bumper and did it myself with a brush. But on the door I don't feel comfortable doing it because of the risk of it dripping or something. The stuff was like regular paint very thin etc.
Not sure what I should do.
Thanks

At first, I thought you were asking for some "racial" assistance. I would try the rubbing compound first. If it doesn't work, there are some scratch reducers on the market. Some are snake oil. I don't have any experience with them but I have heard that some do work. When I use touch up paint, I apply it and then use a credit card type device to smooth it down so it isn't higher than the rest of the paint. It usually take several coats. Then, do the same with clear coat. Then, rub it out for a nice shine.

You can fix them yourself 1st make sure all wax is out of the scratch and from around it .You can use touch up paint in your color code brush it into scratch let dry wet sand lightly with 2000 grit wet paper continue with this until scratch is filled then brush in some clear coat wet sand lightly then hand rub with polishing compound NOT the stuff you get from auto parts stores. get a good 3M compound .Don't rush make sure paint is dry before going on to next step.If you drip don't worry you can always wet sand it and hand polish just remember lightly!
