higher octane will boost rwhp by a few, ona stock motor, literally 2 or 3. the way it burns in the engine will cause the sensors to adjust timing. you won't notice it i'm sure.

There is absolutely no need to run anything other than 87 Octane unless you have a tune for the higher Octane fuels. And actually since the higher Octane fuels burn at a slower rate you are essentiallysending unburned fuel out thew tailpipe on onto the cat converters and other downstream sensors.

my car pings badly and is easier to stall out with 87,,and i have a stock tune,,,,i have to run at least 91...much smoother and better gas milage...its very noticable

richard, the sensors pick this up and the timing adjusts slightly (advances) to burn it more completely. the car picks up slightly more power. not a noticeable difference.

I was running 87 octane for the first year like the manual recommends. I put 89 octane in it and she just "runs" smoother and not necessarily faster but better. Noticeable to me and have been running that ever since. Switching to 93 octane for the S/C install next week! (I am getting Whipped!)
