Where did you get that? I already have 15K on mine and probably 1/2 of it was over 140mph, powershifting! The clutch is still perfect.

Oh BTW, I learned to drive a shifter this yearwith my GT500 and it's pretty safe to say, the clutch would be dead if there was anything wrong with it.

Now, with my luck,I'll be writinga post tomorrow about my clutch falling apart!!!

ORIGINAL: CataclysmGT

Just remember the GT500 "Enzo" factor. Apparently, the stock clutch only lasts a few thousand miles.

I just went to a dealership that had a Shelby GT marked up to 54K. It had a supposed 19K coversion cost. It least it had DVD nav though. But the car was dusty as hell.

i knew it was a matter of time until the dealer markups would lower. should be able to get an 07 for msrp in a couple of months when the 08s start getting to the dealers.

i was called the other day by a dealer here in phx and told they had just taken in a gt 500 on a trade.i asked about it and it was supposed to have 1200 miles.told him i would come in yesterday.went to look, many doubts!got there and salesmen was't even due for 2 hours.talked to one of the other know nothings.was told it was't a gt500,but a shelby gt.price was $49900.now this is on a already titled car.after a few words i left.these dealers are still gouging us if you let them.they are still asking in the 60s for the gt500.the sales turd said its more money for them and awe well.right,i'm going to buy from them.if your in phx.stay away from BERGE,BELL FORD as they are sameowner.there was more said but it was a total loss of time on my part.

With "I am Legend" or whatever with Will Smith coming out sometime soon, you can bet GT500s will take off again and people are reintroduced to them. You can also bet the posers will multiply to mimick a GT500 also. I'd expect markups will again bevery high.

Not as bad as trying to make your car into "Barricade" I guess....

I was just at a dealer in Buena Park, CA and a GT500still had a $30k "market price adjustment" on the sticker. I'm not sure how much they would have come down, but the sticker was marked up $30k.

As I noted in my original post (see below), the window sticker markup means jack squat. It's simply there for the 1 in 1,000 buyers who look at the car, look at the sticker, and then take out their checkbook without making any effort to negotate.

From my experience at this last dealership, I think if you're a serious buyer and offer $2,500 over MSRP for an '07 GT500, 1 in 5 dealers that still have GT500s sitting on the lot will say "yes" so they can clear the way for the '08 GT500s.

ORIGINAL: elburrito99
Their window sticker still had a markup of $35k, but the salesman said they're not moving and they want them sold before the '08 Mustangs start arriving. I then asked for a manager to get a feel for what the deal was. His OPENING offer was $7,500, without me even saying a word.

1+^ If the sticker said 2500 over people woulc want it for 1k or mrsp. Rule of thumb for selling, ask for way more than you want and then go down to the price you want to sell it at.

Lilliston Ford in Darien GA. had 2 USED Blue over White GT500s last week. One had 2,170. or so miles on it . They sold it for 59K. The other had less then 1,700. miles on it. They wanted 60K for it. Ford quit making 07GT500sa few months ago. not any more being shipped, very Few left on the lots. Looks like they (Ford) hit their target Numbers of product to build for the Market about right
