That's a sweet fox you got there. If I hadn't just ordered the whipple HO kit i'd have seriously considered it as a track car.
ORIGINAL: nothsa
Well I wanted a foxbody so I saved up some cash and purchased one for $3,825... I've dumped in about $2000 into the car and decided I think I want to sell it for a supercharger... I enjoy having the two cars because I can drive the 5.0 when it rains and don't have to worry about getting the 2006 dirty...
Anyways to the point here...
2006 Mustang GT - 346rwhp N/A... 12.404 @ 112mph...
This was not enough for me which is why I installed a nitrous kit but decided against using it... I changed the plugs and everything and was all set to go but just had a gut feeling that the car wouldn't handle it so I went with it. I uninstalled the nitrous...
I can sell my 92 5.0 and get a Saleen blower and be pushing well over 450rwhp but again am testing the limits of my daily driver. I definately want the power at hand but can always run low boost with a larger pulley...
So... what should I do???
The 5.0 needs about $1500 and will be an 11 second car. I already installed new heads, cam, upper/lower intake... I have the nitrous ready for that car (forged pistons ftw)... but the s197 is not fast enough for my satisfaction...

RE: Can't Decide - Sell the 5.0 for a blower?
jeff.. i love both of your cars.. i think the 5.0 is such a tight project car, and like you said, deffinately has the potential for low digits.. re-gear if you do keep it, but if it was me, starting college, i would sell the 5.0 for no less then what i paid plus what i put into it, since its in such good condition, and then as far as a SC for the S197, i wouldnt do it yet, i dont think you have a new DS yet, but i would do some smaller things before that, my thing with that, is your only going to get in more trouble with that much more power, do a few smaller perf. mods, if you have any of those left to do .. lol..
i dunno man.. wither way you go, you have a nasty car, 5.0 or S197

Thanks for all the replies!
For those of you who haven't seen my 5.0 here is a picture below. In a few days my insurance will be cancelled on the 5.0 and I will be keeping the car in a garage for a few months until I get some finances together for some mods!
David, the only other mods I really don't have done are the driveshaft, aluminum flywheel, and clutch. I definately need to work on gettingsome stoptech pads and rotors...
I won't be making too much money this semester because I will be going full time Monday-Friday with night classes but will have a side job for the time being. I decided i'm just going to try and accumulate some money and see what I can come up with!

I WISH I had another car so I could mess with my Stang more.
On the other hand, a blower means the world to the stand's development.
I think you need to weigh in your reliability issues and decide. Can you afford your stang to be 'down' and taken apart for things and not have a backup car? I couldnt. Maybe you can.
