Question on prospective HP gain with CAI and tune only
I'm looking at the C&L Street CAI with the SCT-2 from Brenspeed; according to them, this is their favorite intake. I also like this intake, because there is now an insert available that wil prevent an engine code from being generated with the CAI installed. So that way if I need dealer service, just pop in the insert, flash the ECU back to stock, and I'm good to go; don't even need to take off the CAI!
Also, according to their site, they got a 12.8 @ 105mph with just the C&L, custom tune, and Mac mufflers.
Any idea of what HP gains I might be able to expect with only the C&L Street CAI, 89 tune, and 100% stock exhaust?
(My car will be otherwise 100% stock)

I've been looking into the C&L street as well. From what I've found by searching you can expect around 20-25 with a 93 octane tune.
So, with an 87 tuneyou can expect a little less but I'm not sure how much less.

I'd conservativly guess 10-15 at the wheels, but IMO what really makes it worth the cash is the improvement in drivability from the Brenspeed tune; better throttle response.

I would say 20-25 with a 93 tune..But that might be a little high
Mine runs well, especially with cooler weather..

Cool, thanks for all the replies.
Actually, I was just reading another thread that seemed to indicate the tune fades over the course of 60-10 miles, because the PCM re-learns driving habits. So I'm almost wondering that, unless I wanted to disconnect the battery for 10 mins and/or reflash the PCM every 100 miles, the tune would effectively by a waste of time...
Btw, I have a manual.

RE: Question on prospective HP gain with CAI and tune only
I’m running a brenspeed 93 octane config with a stock intake. The 93 octane config made a big difference in how the car drives and it feels like it has more HP. Brenspeed told me that the cold air intake has little impact on HP except at high RPMs so I decided it wasn’t worthwhile. I friend put a temp probe in his intake and found that the air temp in the new CA was the same asthe stock intake.
