Differences between 05-07 gt's
 

Anyone know where I can get the specs differences between the 05,06 and 07 GTs? Anyone know offhand what their key differences are? Just bought an 05 GT and want to know how far down the rung I am. Thanks!

Just a few options I believe is all...different variey of factory rims to choose from, optional 3:55's in the rear (started in 07's), my color (gauge cluster multi-color upgrade), GT appearance package, maybe a couple more minor detailsI missed...08's now have HID lights, some pretty sick interior lights, different paint colors...

The 07 GTs have GT500 sheet metal so they could install the larger engine and starting in the April time frame a K member support bar in the front. It appears that cars built later in the 07 production run had more work done to make sure the water leak problems were resolved.

People, they cross brace started in 3/07. Mine has it.

beefed up frame hence it weighs more, new colors and some new interior upgrades (not the mycolor though, that is still the same), the 3.55 became optional, AUX jack for the shaker system, new rim chooses....i think the biggest is the gear change since this is over looked by many until they start reading through the forums. Really no big differences, they all seem to have the same problems (Clunks, leaks, rattles)

Awesome...Glad to hear it. The biggest difference from what I hear, at least the biggest for me, are the HIDs. I'm going to save and put in an aftermarket kit on them...did it on my 96 gt and it completely changed the car's personality. Thanks all! And thanks for the link! I'm not so far down the ladder after all! And groans and squeaks? What the hell? When I stomp that accelerator, the only sound I hear is the throaty exhaust and my own hushed murmurs of "Jesus..."

2005 mustang- Early ones had the windows down on the keyfob if you held it
stock 3.55's for Manual trans, stock 3.31 for auto
Only year of the mineral grey
2006- Stock 3.55's Manual, Stock 3.31 auto
New color Tungstang
Last year for Legend Lime andScreaming yellow
2007- All transStock 3.31
100$ option for 3.55's on manual trans
new options such as GT/CS Sheby GT Factory navigation
Can fit bigger engine due to the fact they have the same compatrment as GT500
New colors Grabber orange Alloy metallic
2008- New Amb lightinghalf black fanblades
new colors Vapor Candy apple red
Cost of 3.55's went up to $300[:'(]

+1.The posts above are pretty thorough. Here's my list anyway and a comment since you purchased an 05. Some TSBs have been fixed since your car was built and you should check to see if the previous owner had them installed. For instance, there was a gas venting issue with the 05 where the gas would not fill all the way. Also, a clunking in the front when the wheel was turned to full lock. Some weld points were changed so check the build date of your car. I believe early 05s have no weld point to mount a CHE K-member brace w/torque limiters so check with your vendor before you do this mod.

1. 18 inch wheels were not offered in 05
2. Sonic Blue replaced by Vista Blue in 06
3. Navigation system is now available
4. Heated seats are now available
5. 3.55 rear gears are now a $100 option in manual tranny GT cars
6. Radio and A/C control knobs are removable in 05-06
7. Some Turbo/Supercharger kits (e.g. Saleen Series VI) are different for the 07 because of a small plumbing change
8. The mp3 jack is now standard
9. Some interior trim packages are no longer options or are standard
10. Tire inflation sensors (TPMS) are now standard
11. Some TSB's such as gas tank venting, Skipper 500, etc. have been fixed
12. The chassis has been reinforced since the GT and GT500 use the same chassis

Damn...And I was annoyed that I had to pay the extra hundred when I ordered my 07 just becuase they made it an option...[:@]
