you guys are missing the point of this!
I mean isn't it obvious that there was going to be a crash?

I'll bet he'd caught his wife cheating on him or he was cheating on her, so he took out a huge insurance policy and let her have the keys! I mean any reasonable human could see she couldn't handle the car after just 10 seconds!
So he gets cash for the destroyed car, which he'll then hide before he files for divorce!
