Default ??? Electrical Hot Spot in Door Panel

I noticed in my passenger side door panel an area about 8 inches long that melted the plastic part of the door panel and burned through the perforated inset of the door panel.

I don't smoke, and no one had ridden in my car.

Has any one experienced anything like this.

In pic number two, it starts approx 1 inch below and to the right when looking at the door panel, it goes from there into the perforated inset. If you were to draw a line from the window buttons up that's where it ends

I have an appointment Friday. Pray it's under warranty, because a new door panel is $640. I'll let you know.
