Hi guys,

I just bought a used SCT XCal2. I was told that the previous owner had an 06 GT 5spd...same as me. I was also told that he "unlocked" the tuner by returning to stock.

When I plugged the tuner in and went thru the steps, I got to the step where it says "turn key on"...I did so, and as soon as I did, it beeped and said "wrong vehicle".

Any ideas? Did he not unlock it? Or do you think the tunes are for something other than an 06 GT 5spd? Or something else?

Probably dont have the same CPU code.....you will have to get some tunes from one of our tuners......which will now cost the same as a new handheld tuner with the correct tunes.....

Wow, not what I was hoping to hear, LOL.

I've sent an email to Brenspeed, who programmed the unit. I guess, I'll have to wait and see what they say.

Yeah, used tuners are rarely worth the trouble. Chalk it up to experience. Sorry dude.

Yeah, I would contact brenspeed and get one of their tunes.

Brett, don't sweat it. Send your tuner to Brenspeed, with the info from your car. Once they get it, they'll call you to get specific info from you. Then you can pay $75.00 for one tune, or $125.00 for three tunes. All they'll do is erase all data that's on the tuner now, then your good to go. I know this 'cause when I sent my SCT to them they had to do the same thing for me, 'cause I had tunes from another source on mine.

Yea, you live and you learn I guess.

Looks like the $200 I saved by buying used, will get eaten up (most of it).
