Try a catted H-pipe instead of the X. The X has a "raspier" sound and the H is deeper.

I have ARH long tube headers with a catted x-pipe and the stock mufflers. It's not loud at all but it does sound a lot different than stock. I have had several people who were other S197 GT owners comment on how good it sounds and where did I get the mufflers and they were suprised to learn they are the stock mufflers. You might want to try the stock mufflers as someone else suggested. Assuming you still have them it will cost you nothing but your time to try them.

I am running kooks l/ts catted with loudmouths, you are right. LOUD. But not as oud as when I had o/r h pipe.

Yeah it is very loud, i guess i am not use to it but ill give it a chance and see how it works out for me if not i will try the powerflo.....

Steeda, powerflo, borla and frpp are all the same muffler basically BTW

I put the Magna Flow cat backs on first with everything else stock - almost no difference. After the S/C, I added the long tubes and free flow cats - it is perfect. Quiet when you want, and roars when you get on it!
