Default Even MORE questions about MP3 player connections...

I know this topic has been covered in a million threads, but I've still seen a few things unanswered after a few hours of searching. I've got an 06, with the Shaker 1000, and looking for a plug-and-play adapter for an MP3 player (NON-IPOD). I read stories here praising the Peripheral adapters and then threads saying they will screw up our car's electronics for some reason. Apparently they've even been pulled off the market for 05-06's recently?

Best Buy still sells this adapter, but someone said it will not work for the Shaker 1000, and it's also made by Peripheral as well: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1153337432303

Will all the Peripheral adapters mess with the electronics? Is there any easy solution?

I'd greatly appreciate any help.

My dad has a 2006 mustang and I have a 2007 and we both have Shaker 500 systems, if you look inside the arm rest next to the second power point there is a place to plug in a standard audio cable.

You just have to get a mini to mini cable $5 at walmart, or $25 at circuit city. Plug one end into the aux jack in the armrest, and the other into the top of the mp3 player or Ipod headphone jack...or line output. Both should work. If you have a 05 mustang it doesnt have the aux jack..so you S.O.L.

My 06 doesn't have the aux input. I don't think they appeared on anything prior to 07. I am using the peripheral adapter, and I haven't had any problems with my car. I have had problems with the unit, however. For power, I connected it to the power plug in the console, which is live all the time, and sometimes the PIE unit hangs, and I have to pull the fuse for the center console and put it back in to get it going. Other than that, I am very happy with it.

How long have you had it installed for?

Very strange, my 06 GT with a Shaker 500 does not have it.
