wow okay. First turn that that ss takes it will be spun out of control while blue devil is doing the turn in reverse. The handling of corvette is uncomparable to the mustang any day of the week. Both are great cars that get great attention. And I am sure that super snake will cost the same as that blue devil by the time the dealers are done.

I think the Camaro is going to look really "cheap" once the production model hits showrooms. GM uses the cheapest plastic dash materials and designs inside, and the fit and finish of the production car will not be nearly as tight as the concept.

I mean, the old trans-am is cheapish....no reason to think the new stuff is going to be better.

The Challenger is supposedly going to 25,000 units per year, meaing HUGE markup for a "normal" car.

The Vette would win, the Super Snake will have it's hands full with a normal Z06.

Mustang wins in the style department though.
I think you're confusing the GT500KR with the Super Snake. The KR will have only 540hp, the Super Snake starts at, I believe, 600 and could go up depending on what the customer wants. Isn't the Blue Devil touting 650hp? I know with that much power in a 3100lb car, it's gonna be a rocket sled, but 800+ in a 3750lb Super Snake, itwill have a slightly better power/weight ratio, so the web battle for brand supremacy begins
I'm not confusing the two. Z06 has 500RWHP and weights just over 3100lbs. The GT500SS weighs almost 4000lbs. It's going to need all the horsepower it can get to make up that weight difference.
????? The standard Z06 makes more like 440rwhp(as the standard GT500 makes 450ish) and I'm sure the standard Super Snake will be in the 550-570rwhp range, so I think it would beat it in a drag, the uprated Super Snake would leave no doubt IMO. Although I see your point

I would take the vette, no question. Reason? Handling. The mustang only possesses straight line performance; the live axle is, imo, the achilles heel of the stang. The vette offers both straight line performance AND handling.

On a side note, I just bought an '07 GT, but I'm kind of wishing I waited for the '09 Camaro. That thing looks sweet. But I doubt I could get the new Camaro for $22.4k, which is what I paid for the GT.

You need an *asterisk* next to your name, since you're a "backed into it" Mustang owner[8D].

Huh? I thought about the stang purchase quite a bit, before I even saw the deal on my car. It was a toss up between a used Vette (too unreliable) or a new stang. I chose the latter. There are few other new cars that offer the Mustangs' performance at such a reasonable price. And I didn't want an STi or Lancer Evo.
