I'll atest to the gay thing. i was actually gonna say it in my 1st post but i didnt want to offend anyone. my cruise stopped in the keys in 2006. I was walking the beach and im like a pretty good looking and buff young guy (or kid, however you want to look at it, i was 16 at the time). and this clearly gay guy who had to be at least 30 came up to me and said "excuse me my gay-dar is telling my you're gay. is this true?" that mother F*cker hit the ground fast after that. So yea theres a lot of homosexuals down there, but from what i know most of them take pride in what they drive meaning if possible they would opt for a gt over a v6 anyday. and they don't really drive mustangs, or at least not to my knowledge

Most Florida resort areas have a very large amount of Mustang Convertibles on the rental lots. Those rentals are usually all V6.

MAybe its because theres more mid age to older people down in the keys. its not really like a party spot so not many young people go down there. and assumming that most of the people driving the mustangs were midage - older, they were probably women and most women dont care how fast their car goes. To them a mustang is a mustang.

Not my wife. For her, it was a GT or nothing. She is 44 and I'm pushing 50.

Can't speak for old men, and perhaps not for most women, but I am all for the GT. Friends who own a vacation home on Key West tell me that there is a large gay population. Do we have a representative?

I have heard there is a big population out on the hook of Cape Cod. True?

What color was the Ford GT because I know a guy that lives by me with a grey one and goes down to the Keys a lot.
yeah, it was grey with white racing stripes

Also, I doubt most of them were rentals, because August is the time when the Keys get the least amount of tourism (it's sooo damn hot and humid, theres problems with the water, etc), and it was about 50/50 hardtop/vert

I was down there for about a week and a half and nearly a third of the cars were either v6 'stangs or PT Cruisers
