Please Help if You Can -
Hi everyone -
My wife, Christine, has had MS for the last 18 months. She had to quit her job. She's on many meds and is struggling.
Over on Stangsunleashed - one of the members - Sprint200 (Jeff) - had a very nice idea. He's riding in an MS charity bike ride in OK in a few weeks. He wants to dedicate his 150 mile ride in memory of his mother and to honor Christine.
If you're able to make a small donation - it would help the millions of people afflicted with MS - like Christine.
The response from Stangsunleashed members has been amazing. We've raised over $2k in one day. Help make Jeff the best supported rider in the event.

Hi - just go to Jeff's page and they have links to donate with credit cards and I think Pay Pal?
Here's a thread I started for Christine - if you'd like to know a little more about her.

I know what your wifes going through. I have had MS for 20+ years. Only found out i had it about 4 1/2 years ago. Thank God for MIR's.Itsucks never knowing, what you are going to feel like every day. Some days are fine, others you just want to die. Has your wife found a good pain drug. I had avery hard time finding a pain drug that works. The only ones so far that work for me, ( only about 35% of the time)are Amitriptyline, and Pregabalin.Thankfully i have a very supporting wife, and family behind me. And the VA is paying all my Medical bills.MS drugs arevery $$$ about $35,000 a year for Tysabri for me. Then all my otherdrugs area further$8,000 to $10,000 a year. Someday maybe they will find out what cause's MS and find a cure. Other wise now they can only help slow it down and help the relapses.

I'm sorry for what you've been/are going through.
She has secondary/progressive and has yet to go into remission the past 18 months.
She'll get disability - but it takes forever. Her medical costs have delpleted our savings. And she's only 36 years-old.
Needless to say, I've very moved by Jeff's participation in this MS Ride. He's trying to lift Christine's spirits. After her second seizure two weeks ago - she learned she can't drive for 12 months - on top of everything else.
All I can do is try to keep her positive - which includes frequent rides in the Rufstang! She loves to go fast.

Sorry. No - she hasn't found a pain drug that really works. I think she takes Railpaks (sp?) for her migraines. At the moment, she's in the middle of an optic neuritis event where she loses vision in her left eye.
I'm taking her to an MS specialist in Winston-Salem NC next month - Dr. Douglas Jeffery at Wake Forest Med Center.
