The stripes would look nicer if they went all the way to bumper. If you get the GT500 chin spoiler though hood stripes like those look great.

I ordered a roll of piping (or welts as it is sometimes called) from these guys on the internet that do custom PT Cruisers.http://www.mrmikes.com/, call them at 1- 941- 922- 5070

It only cost me like $10 for a 40 foot roll. It tool all of 5 minutes per door to wedge in. They are real die hard PT Cruiser fanatics and I kind of had to twist their arm into selling me a roll. Otherwise any local upolstery shop has it real cheap. Thanks for the comments, I did not want to go all the way through the car with the stripes because I only wanted to accent the hood scoop, I way change my mind in the future.

I love the door outline. It looks really cool, how did you do it? Looks real clean. If youdont mind sharing how it was done. I guessyou can tell by now that I am a big fan of the yellow. I think it would look nicer, only my opinion, if the stripes went all the way through. Car looks great.

Do the yellow "welts", or accents match up with the screaming yellow color?

It is real close, but given that the welts are in the car, I dont care if it is not a perfect match. If it was a body part, I would be much more concrned with color match

So are they more of a lighter or darker shade compared to the SY? Also, when the door is closed and opened which way does it match up better?

i wouldnt say lighter or darker, but rather a slightly different shade. Also, the fact that the door is opened or closed makes no difference on the color match. I guess you could say it is a shade between screaming yellow and grabber orange, but closer to the yellow side, maybe like a school bus.
