Default TOKICO D SPEC STRUTS--DRAG RACING?

Anyone with d spec struts? I am concidering getting them for drag racing. Hoping to lift car on a launch and keep then nose up for weight distribution.
Is their a huge difference?

Changing struts alone won't help with your launch. You need bothstruts and shocks adjustable. You want to set thestruts to semi-firm and the shocks to firm. Thats the recommendation from Tokico.

I have them and they are great.

owoero01, Thanks for the responce. I am a bit confused. If I get the 4 d spec struts, I will also neeed shocks? I thought struts took the place of shocks.
Also do you know what your 1/4 mile time was befor and after?
Thanks,
Thurman

OK, I don't mean to step on your feet here owero01, but I got my Dspec manual right in front of me and here is what it says for drag racing on page 14.
"Rear drive cars. generally need front to rear weight transfer for maximum rear traction. Letting the nose come up easily can be accomplished by disconnecting the front sway bar, and setting the front D-spec shocks/struts at full soft (minimal rebound control). The rear shocks should be soft enough to maximize traction but not allow axle tramp. Full soft at both sides is probably a good starting point."

So, Thurman in answer to your questions. D-specs are sold as a front and rear kit for our cars, they include front struts and rear shocks. Secondly, the softest setting is probably the best for drag racing as it allows maximum weight transfer to the rear wheels. So this is the great advantage to adjustables, You can drive your car to the track, adjust the dampening, race! and then reset them for the drive home.

Sounds like they will help. You also might want to look into an anti squat rear sway bar system for drag racing only. I think either BMR or CHE makes them. Also lighter wheels and tires, will make a huge difference.

It's a rear stabilizer bar that works like an anti sway bar but instead it keeps the right rear of the car from squatting lower than the left rear. It helpskeep equal weight on both rear wheels for better traction. For the life of me I can't remember who makes it and exactly what it's called. It's for track use only and must be unhooked for the street. I saw some info on it in one the Mustang mags recently, It was quite impressive, improved 60' and 1/4 mile times by quite a bit.
