Anyone good at doughnuts?

Anyone good at doughnuts?
Ok, I've had a few trips to the track, and am getting better at going straight fast. Still not good, but I can do ok. So today was a rainy day, (when is it NOT a rainy day in Puerto Rico?) and I thought I'd like to see if I can do some doughnuts! I found an empty parking lot, with good pavement and NO parking lot lights, or anything else to hit. I turned off the TCS, rolled my windows down so I could hear that great sound, and began to make circles on the pavement. Well, this is also apparently a skill I need to master. ? I can get about one and a half to two turns, and I can't seem to get more than that. There was a very slight slope to the parking lot, and a film of water. I got the rear end sliding out so hard that I wound up going backwards with the tires spinning! I just could really get a good circle going, it was more like a big turn, then into a really tight turn. I also figured out I need to put it into 1st gear (it's an automatic) and leave it. In drive it shifted into second during the slide, and then the slide changed.
When I got home, my girlfriend and her kids piled in my car for a trip to Pizza Hut, and WHOA! There's black water spots all over my car! Well, I couldn't take my car ANYWHERE looking like that, so while my gf and her kids were sitting in it I got out the hose and washed it off. Had to rub some of the spots off gently with my hand while the water sprayed on. Of course I was careful not to scratch the paint. There were even black water spots on my seats!
Ok, so here's my theory. Next time I'm gonna try doughnuts on dry pavement. I'm thinking the water just makes it too slippery. The back end just comes around too fast. Or am I turning the wheel to hard? Should I come off the turn when the slide begins?
So, I'm going to practice some more, but if any of you have some tips I'd appreciate hearing from you.

RE: Anyone good at doughnuts?
It's like drifting. You control the spin with the throttle-- the harder you step on it, the faster it spins. You don't wanna spin too fast because that'sat some point the car just stop. How you have your front wheels AFTER the spin starts doesn't really make much difference because that hardly even move a foot if you're doing it right. Listen to the engine sound on this video and try to copy what this guy is doing except for I'm guessing you're rollin in a GT so you'd need a little more throttle on yours.
