Yeah, I have it as well... I always wash inside the gas door area to get rid of it.

luckydawg003, GTStang and I are both in Central Florida as well (Lake Mary).

i doubt someone did that, make sure the fuel door is sealing and look behind fender for trace material

Mine does it too. Seems like a weird collection point for sand and dirt, Hmmmm maybe itscheap Arab gas residue? LOL

I thought I was the only one!

I didn't think it was sand, as it looks too dark to be that. But it's there about a week after I clean it out...
I get it whether I drive at the beach or not. I guess it's just because it's not an airtight seal there!

Just feel lucky that they are using sand and not sugar.
You didn't see that episode of mythbusters then? Sugar sinks to the bottom of the tank and has so little effect on the gas as to be unnoticeable.

Now, Mothballs..... they arguably raise octane...... [8D]

I also get the sand in the gas cap. I just assumed it was b/c I work like 100 feet from the beach. A friend of mine in C. FL said he had the same problem. I'm in West FL.
