Default Keep finding sand near my gas cap

Everytime I fill up now, I have to get sand out of my gas cap area. It doesn't look like the sand is in the tank or were the nozzle goes. But once I open my fuel door their is always sand their and if I lift the rubber piece under the fuel filler thing it just pours out sand and dirt. Any ideas thanks.

Mine did that too when we went out to Calif. It just blew in there from being in the air.

Just feel lucky that they are using sand and not sugar.

If there is that much sand, then somebody may have sabataged your tank. Get a locking gas cap for insurance. Also consider changing your fuel filt.

Ya that sounds like a good idea, what size locking fuel cap can I get? I live in central Fl so their isn't really any sand to be blowing around, so maybe some D*ckhead did put sand in my tank. I definetely need to get a locking fuel cap. Too bad Ford didn't just give us the locking fuel door, that would have been nice.

wow, sounds like everyone's tank is being sabotaged!

It's justdirt in the air settling in low-airflow areas.
