lol...dude, i have the same issue. but, i know that i can fit under the car laying down without stands, if it it comes falling down i can just drop on my stomach

JT, it's good to be nervous about being under a car, it helps keep you alive. If ramps don't work for you, try kwiklift.com. Corvette owners seem to use them a lot because their cars sit so low.

I jack up the car, let it down on the jack stands then put a tiny bit of weight back on the jack so it's like having 3 supports in place....

That's what is commonly known as the "Harbor Freight, Made in a Hurry" syndrome. Buy some real jack stands made in the USA by a company that has to meet forge and steel tolerances that have been established. That crap that they sell that came from China is horrendous. Oh yeah they cost next to nothing. And that will be a terrific thing to think about while you are pinned under your car. "I should have spent the extra money and got some quality stands". Chinese jack stands. That even sounds wrong.
