Default help Q's about parts and warranty

ok so i just got off the phone with the service specialist at my dealer. i was asking him if they will install some parts if i ordered them offline. i asked him about: exhaust, cold air intake, and a tune.he said that he higly discourages getting a cai and tune because another customer he knows of did cai himself and had Lidio (a mustang parts specialist in this area) do his tune. and now he says this guy's mustang stalls alot now just during idle, and it is daily driver, just like mine. he said he thinks the customer might have bought a ****ty tuner but hes not sure. he thinks its called a coldwater or blackwater or something. he also said that if i get any of these parts then i will void my warranty on the part i install it on. now ive read the warranty thing on this site, and it said that adding performance enhancers or whatever dosnt void the warranty unless my car was to break or whatever and the dealer can prove that my aftermarket parts were indeed the cause of the part on the car to fail. is this correct or not? is my dealer correct or not. and does anyone think that if i got a jlt, sct2 tune and slp lm's do you think that my car will have any problems. check engine light, stalling anything like that, because i dont want that. i basically am wondering what i should do thanks alot in advance.

CAI + SCT tune from Brenspeed, no worries, runs like a top.

If dealer gives you grief, replace stick airbox, reload stock tune, and slap dealer.

This topic has been debated 10 million times already.

If you are worried about your warranty... DO NOT MOD YOUR FREEKIN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if you have some *****, get the CAI, get the Tuner from brenspeed or whichever tuner you choose, install it, and live a little!

The warranty is a waste of $$$, your engine is not going to blow so i have no clue what you are worried about.

Question for you. Did you buy your car because it had a great warranty, or because it is a bad *** car?
nuf said. don't go living your life hoping one day you will actually get to use the stinking warranty!
I say enjoy your beast any way YOU see fit.

Research it. 90% of the people on these forums are running with at LEAST a cai and tune. Whether its a custom dyno tune, a canned tune, or a mail order tune...they are running a tune. I couldnt imagine driving these cars without a tune, but to each their own. I have never heard of this "stalling" you are reffering to.. if a cel goes on it can be simply fixed by the tuner. These cars are rich as **** coming form the factory, you would be doing your car a favor to tune it and put a cai on there. Axle back exhaust doese absolutely nothing performance wise, therefore will not harm your car in any which way. You can buy these online and put them on in your garage in less then 10 minutes.

Im not trying to be a dick at all, i swear. I was in your position once before i realized what the hell i was doing. Research this stuff. Dont talk to your dealer about mods, thats like talking to your mother about sex, they will give you every excuse not to do it!

hahahaha....no **** dude.....the car aint going to break. Very few people ahve problems and generally its because they did something wrong and its not the part itself....if you can read and follow pictures then you should have no trouble doing this stuff yourself.

Sure. Say you are right and the part failing didn't void the warranty. Do you have more money than Ford to prove you are right in court? They will milk you dry and in the end, you will be poor trying to prove you were right.

I would recommend against modding your car. I would never even think of modding. Modding is bad. Modding is evil. Modding may make you burn more gas. Modding will give you nightmares of warranty voidness. Modding will draw more attention to your Stang. Modding will destroy the vehicle as youknow it. That's why my car is, and always will be,...stock!
