Now, its ok to not spend money on, but to spend money to delete it.... Not a good expenditure.
Right on!
I don't really think it makes the car look cheap..... I kind of like the way it looks without the spoiler but there is no way in hell I would pay to have mine removed.
Right, you just order it w/o one, wouldn't fill in the holes (but would opt for a new decklid if I had a spoiler on there). What car doesn't have a spoiler on it these days? ...and ya know why Ford offered SD as an option.... couldn't pass that up.

Not having a spoiler makes the car look cheap like the owner couldn't afford extra options!

Sorry, but its true. Now, its ok to not spend money on, but to spend money to delete it.... Not a good expenditure.

First of all, it doesn't cost a dime to buy the car without the spoiler- you just don't get any money back from Ford for telling them to leave it off.

Secondly, I happen to think that it looks like a cheap, tacky piece of crap.
Not only that, but it's not even functional (it's been proven to be totally inefficient for producing any downward force!).
What's more, almost every single inexpensive cookie-cutter four-banger "family" car these days comes with a similar spoiler in a pathetic attempt to make them look "sporty", so not only is it tacky and inefficient, but it cheapens the look of the Stang as well.
I also think it ruins the beautiful streamlined look of the S-197 from the side, and gives it a much too "high-assed" look when seen from the rear.
But hey, to each his own......

Don't be jealous that you don't have a spoiler. Don't worry, maybe someday you will grow up and get one too![sm=wootwoot.gif]j/k

Most cars look better with no spoiler. Evidence:

To me the car always looked more streamlined without a spoiler

but, to each his own.

Most dealerships and I'm suspecting most buyers got their cars not even knowing SD was an option.

It's as functional as the faux gas cap on the decklid as well. Oh, I ordered mine with gas cap delete too.
