RE: Gt 350 question
I would have to agre with cheftjpeck. I own a 05 gt that i have turned into a 1967 gt350 tribute car. no supercharger just boltons. if this guy claims this to be real its BS i have all 67 emblems but when some one asks about it i tell them that it is just a gt. But i like the emblems of the 67 gt350.

Wouldn't GT350 have meaning if the guy had CAI, tune, underdrive, gears, full exhaust? That should puthim around 350 hp. According to your statement about GT 300 representing hp this makes sense to me. Although not the original, still makes sense.

I saw a guy on ebaty selling GT300 stickers. Supposed to signify the 300HP. It least his had meaning.

If you go by that alone, then yes. But, horsepowernumbers never, ever, designated a GT. It's rice plain and simple. Depends on if you want to live in that kind of world or not.

RE: Gt 350 question
Actually the origional GT 350 had 306HP. Anyway it is just a stripe that someone got because they like the way it looks (shelby/ford do not make a s197 gt 350). I went with the gt350 stripe because I and anyone that knows about mustangs knows thier is no current gt350. I didn't want it to say gt500 because it isn't or shelby because it isn't. With gt350 on the side it just says it is different. Did you look at the car to see if it had any mods?

That's why I said it never had anything to do with horsepower. Had to do with FEET.

Back in the day, the GT 350 simply signified a small block, while the GT 500 signified a big block. Don't believe that the numbers signified anything else other than that.

You're going to need to read up on you Carol Shelby history my friend.

Please elaborate- you have piqued my curiosity. I never understood exactly what the 350 or 500 numbers were supposed to stand for.

Ding ding ding. Because it was 350 feet from the parts rack to the assembly hoist.
