Whats wrong with my car? Help please!
Ok last week I posted about my car getting into water up to the hood ... and the car was fine..I took it to get checked out at the oil change place.
They checked all fluids and changed the oil just in case. My uncle at the dealership said it was fine.
The engine.. everything sounded and ran fine.
Well now I have a problem this week. When I start the car.. not everytime but if it has been sitting.. it kinda goes grrrrrn then starts.
Also my radio is doing odd things.. It will come on and be reset.. and if not... it will cycle through ALL of my cd slots by itself.
Once the car starts though it runs fine.
I'm not sure what is wrong with it.. but I am taking it to the dealership on Tuesday.
My uncle owns the dealership.
I wonder if Tueday is ok to wait untill... I really have no choice.
Anyone know if this is ok... and what could be wrong with it?
Thanks!

Well what has happened is that you are starting to develop corrosion on your electrical connections. More then likely it is ground connections since Fords are famous for faulty ground connections anyway. Basically, you will need to remove and clean all your ground connections and possibly your positive connections on your starter also. I am not sure if that is the main point for your positive battery connection to the electrical system but it used to be. The corrosion will increase the resistance at each point and cause intermittant connections. You can also get electrical corrosion spray and spray all your connections where water may have contacted. This will stop any corrosion and should remove any residule water still left in the connection.

My uncle knows about the incident with water..
I hope they don't put down somewhere when they work on it that it was flood damage.........
That would screw the value of my car.
I heard him ask the service guy when to bring it in.. and all he did was describe the symtoms and said it was under warranty.
Didnt hear him say anything about water at that point...
But if he did say that he wouldn't say it was under warranty would he? Or yes?
Should I call him and ask him not to mention it or something?
Lets face it... it's not anything major and for the car to say it had flood damage for something like that would be ridiculus.

Your spark plugs may have gotten wet and the condensationcant escape down around the plugs, thats what couldbecausing the starting problem. I go mudding a lot and it happens quite a bit. just take the plugs out for a couple hours, let them dry and put them back in. I have no idea about your stereo.
I personally wouldnt have said anything about the water. Even though its just your uncle he told he is still at the dealership and could unintentionally leak. And yes more then likely if they found out about the water they probably would void the warranty.
Before you take it I'd make sure your uncle didn't tell anyone about the water. If he did I'd just take the car to some little repair shop and pay them to fix it, so that you could avoid the possiblity of "flood damage"

Also have them pull and check the ECM for full diagnostic outside the car. Even though the conectors are "waterproof" if they even sweated or condensation formed the ECM may have shorted and fried some IC's and may need replacing. If they do they will give the car a new strategy code as well. So be prepared to get new vendor supplied tunes matching the new strategy before uploading any tunes assuming you have any upgrades in that area....
