Default changed my fuel filter and..........

My mpg dropped .3 instantly. Anyone else notice the same? It also seemed to idle smoother, but that could be in my head. I only have 13,000 miles on it, but I figured i'm installing the GT500 pumps in a week so I should probably go ahead and change the filter.

I'm just going by the dash meter, but on my normal drive to work I'm always at 18mpg and after the filter change it's at 17.7 and doesn't move.

It is probably best to judge on your next fill up.

Make sure the fuel filter is installed correctly... Make sure the flow arrow is going towards the car..If it is,double check for leaks

If you put it in the way it came out then it's impossible to put it in backwards. It wasn't leaking when i put it in, but I'll double check it.

Maybe it was just all the fuel I wasted by cranking the engine to relieve the pressure and of course some spilled out the filter/lines. I'm going to reset it and see where it settles.

.3 isn't enough to be concerned over IMO, becuase you will loose some fuel when disconnecting the lines. It is impossible to put the filter on backwards, as one side is slightly larger than the other.

Moosestang, next time you fill up, check your mileage the old fashion way. Divide the number of gallons you use with the miles you put on that tank.
