Actually, the GT500 convertibles aren't that much faster than a stock hardtop GT. Combine that with a douche bag driver with a passenger (extra weight), and you might have a fighting chance to beat him if you felt like racing.
2005 GT:
0-60mph: 5.1s
1/4 mile: 13.6s

2007 GT500 Convertible
0-60mph: 4.8s
1/4 miles: 13.4s

I wouldn't count on that. The two GTs I've ran across were no match. I pulled up to one at a red light down in Daytona a week ago, he started reving the motor and hadhis Girl in the car. He at least had Axle backs of some sort, his was loud. When he left hard I tore out. It wasn't even close, I had 3 lenghts in First. What did supprise me that weekend was how fast a Nissan Maxima is. You GT guys should not jump on those. It would be very Close.

Regarding Maximas, I didn't think they were that fast... The fastest 0-60 and 1/4 mile times I could find were 6.3 and 14.9, respectively, for a 2004-2005 manual. Maybe you ran accross a modded one? That would be sad if I were that bad of a driver to lose to that ha ha.

He points up (he's in a vert with the top down) and says " I couldn't see you with the sun beating down in my eyes"
if he pointed UP then the sun would not have affected his
eyes, unless he was bird watching while trying to turn.
We get to another light and he hollers at me " This was the first one off the line "
unlikely, those first few production cars were reserved.
I just nod and drive away.
nicely done, with the kid in the car, that was a sensible and mature manuever.

Its one around here that I want a piece of myself. Bottom line..... I can hook hard, and this guy can't drive, not to mention he has 22s on his, and constantly spins. Man, what I would love to get it.
