Default Radio Display Dimming

I posted this on another forum but decided to post here as well to see if anyone was having the same issue.

Has anyone else notice their radio display dimming when you have the radio halfway up or louder. I would generally think this is a sign of the ALT not putting enough amps out. Before I take it in I was just wondering if this is normal? It doesn't dim alot, but enough to be noticeable. BTW It is the Shaker 500 on a GT Premium.

My display dims when I turn the headlights on so I am not sure if this is normal or not.

I don't have my GT yet, but, have an '89 GMC. During daylight the digital displays are bright, to combat the sun light. When I turn on the lights, they dim, cause they think it is dark out and don't have to be working so hard.

it dimming when you turn on your headlights is normal. You don't need it as bright at night. I'm talking about it dimming when the radio is on and you are looking at the screen it dims and then comes back like if i had an amp and subs in the back.
