RE: Building the Beast
If you don`t mind me asking, where did you get your stroker kit and how much was it. I`ve been looking around and have found kits with cast cranks as low as $1,400 and complete forged assemblies for as low as $2,400 and up to about $3,400. I`d like to find a good Scat or Eagle forged stroker kit, but I can`t find them for the 4.6.
I`m assuming you pulled the motor yourself. How was it. Pretty basic and stright forward pull or not? Also, did you run into any hidden costs with your local machine shop?

RE: Building the Beast
$100 bucks for the machine shop. hone out cylinders is about all you need unless you go .20 over
My kit is a Eagle 302 stroker kit and was $2125 but with shipping it was close to $2200. PM me for the shop i got it from and i'll give you their number. The wiring harness is the hardest thing to do. I had a guy I know do most of the work because Im not really experienced enough to do it myself.
BTW the pistons are Arias.

Thanks bro. I`ll definitaly PM you for that info because I thought you had to do the .020 over bore with a 3.75 stroke to get the 302 displacement. That would definitaly save the cost of the bore at the machine shop.
PM sent.

RE: Building the Beast
Looking good there, forged is definately the way forward with these motors.Respect to you for doing it now, before being forced into it by circumstance.
It's a game of brinkmanship between me and my motor. Do I do it before it folds a rod overor wait til it goes bang and risk throwing a rod out the side ? [8D]
