I would like to have my rocker panels and mirrors painted to match my car and the body shops that I have talked to all say that I need to order GT panels; has anyone had any luck with painting the existing; especially the mirrors?

Why do you have to order GT panels?

Anyways, I painted my own mirrors and it didn't come out perfect, but it came out 'good enough'. I had to sand for hours then painted with paint from paintscratch.com. Good enough, but I wanted perfect, so the mirrors you see in my sig are after I then went to the dealer and had them do it right.

You may want to order GT rocker panels because they are cheap from takeoff sites. Try ebay or newtakeoff.com or search around, you can usually find your color ready to ship.

Thanks; I spoke with the local Ford dealer and they say that they can paint the existing mirrors but because they have a texture to them that they can not guarantee them. I did go ahead and order take off rocker panels ($125.00 w/tax and shipping) that are painted already to match my car.
