is there any way you can have the foglights on and the brights on at the same time

the SJB, then you can probably do it. the $20 haynes manual, shows how it is all wired |

hammeron is correct. You would have to trick the logic to the SJB module, but Ithought better of it to just bypass the darn thing for complete manual control of the fog lamps, regardless of the exterior light settings. This will allow you to turn the fog lamps on at any time using the stock switch. Keep in mind that this will work all the time, regardless of key position. If you want to have the lights turn off automatically with the engine, interrupt the wire I haveexplained belowin red with relay contacts, driven by the accessory2 circuit.
The red wire I have represents the modification you need to do. You will need to cut the wire between the main light switch, pin 6 and tie it to the wire at the SJB, pin 2. Be sure to insulate the wires that are no longer connected from the SJB. Use a meter beforehand to verify that the wire at the headlamp switch pin 6 goes to ground when you activate the fog lamp switch. At the same time, the wire at pin 2 of the SJB should go to ground as well. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. It's a hard process for such a small result. |

Well, having the brights on would nullify the foglights. The light from foglightsis dispersed very wide in a beam that is narrow top to bottom. They are aimed low so as to illuminate the sides of the road, and a very short distance in front. This is so that the driver can see the edges of the road in fog without light being reflected back to him from high in the front. High beams are the worst lights to use in a foggy condition for the same reason...Much of that light would be reflected back to the driver and make it difficult to see ahead. Same for driving in snow fall.
I drive with the foglights on at night most of the time, since they don't shine in the eyes of the drivers coming from the opposite direction. Some people still flash their brights at me though, I think because when they see four lights they assume I have my brights on. But I've seen GTs coming the other way against me with their foglights on and it's not intrusive at all. |

change the bulbs the fogs use to a dual filament bulb so the fogs would have a high version too so there would be heads fogs heads+fogs HB HB+fogs HB+HB fogs the set it to turn on all the lights on the bright switch if the fogs are on I think this would be a cool (although illegal) mod the fogs are practicaly headlights but with differant reflector and a blocker so why not add a Highbeam filament to the fogs |

I could just see going from heads to HB+HB Fogs and having to pass thruall the positions inbetween. It would look like close encounters of the 3rd kind.:D |
