Front end lift at highway speeds (and above)?
Does / Did anyone have a noticable lift of the front end on the highway (that "floating" feeling )?
Did you manage to eliminate that?
We have a wide open grill and a smaller opening below the bumper that lets HUGE amounts of air under the hood.
With such a light front end and all that air backing up against the firewall, I'm assuming that is where a lot of lift is coming from. It is piling up against the firewall and exiting behind the front wheels. Kinda like a ducted fan engine.
Do you think a hood with reverse-facing scoops, vents, or a cowl hood, would let the air flow smoothly out over the roofline adding downforce and reducing drag?
I was also thinking about adifferent front bumper/airdam.
Any particular model come to mind?
I figure reducing drag and adding downforce to the front end will also help our understeering ponys overall.
Thanks

I've been over 100 with the stock front end and haven't noticed any mushiness orfloating. She's felt solid. Is your tire pressure up to snuff?

I have no issues and Hit 120-125 many times with no lifting..maybe its a V 6 related issue..
Then again i have full suspension and its lowered..
I would try lowering your car, that might help Alot..since these cars sit so high

Ain't that the truth. I hit about 125ish the other night. Got there fast--slowed down fast, but I noticed no instability myself at these speeds. Maybe tire related??

I'm going to have to disagree with most of you. When my gt was stock (suspension) I noticed that the front end felt light at about 120 mph. Since then I've had the car lowered and the classic chin spoiler put on and it's completely different. The car 'feels' as secure at 120 as it does at 50!
