2005 V6 With White Convertible Top, Pics Inside!
Hello all, this is my first post here and the reason I am posting is that I could never find anybody who had replaced the convertible top on an '05 or up and tried white. This past week I had my top replaced and chose "Mustang White" and it's the only one I've ever seen thus far and wanted to share. I'm sure many of you have been curious to know how a white top might match up with today's body style, so here it is.
The reason I replaced the top was due to failure. Ford's original top was (A) seemingly too tight and (B) only held by adhesive and done poorly overall. My top failed within 2 years, the window was literally pulling out of the top and water was starting to leak in. I am in South Carolina, so almost certainly the heat contributed to early failure as well as this bad design.
The top was built by Robbins and installed locally. Robbins stitched a pocket of sorts into the top which to me seems as though it would relieve some strain on the window. The window is additionally held in by adhesive, the installer claimed it was much heavier duty vs the factory job from Ford.
For the sake of more info, I also have 10" 3M Scotchcal stripes installed on this V6 (yes I know, the stripes won't make it go faster!) and just this week I also filled in the front bumper all the way down for a continuous look. The bulk of that install was done professionally, I just decided recently to fill this section in as the installer claimed it was too curvy to fill in (bullsh*t!). I also upgraded the grill to the Pony style, and am awaiting my fender emblems to arrive next week (red and white stripes with Pony).
So I'm excited and wanted to share! Yes, it's all cosmetic and I'm not a speed freak...yet this car has more ***** than I need out of any vehicle (I largely commute in her).

Rear pic, and close up of stitching around rear window. Car is still wet from washing it.

Actually I was thinking of picking up one of the many sets of new 17" Cragar style factory sets on eBay! I agree on that.
Also, once the white top went on the car looks like a foot longer.
