Just Changed the oil - question

RE: Just Changed the oil - question
157, I do agree, thier area lot of crappy dealerships out their. And some don't care about you or your car. Like anything else, you need to do some investigaing before you bring your car in. Like If they are blue oval, how long in business, and even walk arond to the back and talk to the techs. Believe me, they are quick to tell all the dirt on the dealership.
Hope this helps,

make sure when you change it yourself that the old filter gasket came off the car. mine stuck once, and i had a double gasket and all my oil leaked out. it was really bad, my car prolly lost some life.

I had my first 5000 mile oil change at the dealer,
well I did it at 2500 myself, but went to the dealer
for the warranty aspect plus it was free. I signed
my filter and they did not change it. I pointed it
out and they changed it but I was now down a
1/2 quart of oil. Mentioned that and they topped
it off. Now I had a half a quart of old oil mixed with
the new because they started the motor andbacked
it out of the oil changing bay the first time with the old
filter and 1/2 quart of old oil in it before I could check
the filter for my signature.
Said they normally only change the filter at
10,000 miles. I disagreed and pointed out the free
first oil AND FILTER coupon I got when I purchased
the ol stang. Got them there. Just have to stay on top
of what they are doing.

No joke. Sign your filter before going to the
stealership for a oil/filter change. I always point
out that my stang has NO scratches/blems/dings/dents
or swirls before handing over the keys. And no grease
on the seats/doors/steering wheel/carpet and such.
I even gave them heck about the oily mess on one
of the crossmembers next to the drain plug where
they just let it drain onto and trickle on down it. Thats
a dust/dirt catching scene right there. It was spotless
under there 30 mins earlier when I arrived.
