07 or 08

hi guys, been reading this forum for a few hours and just joined.I'm going to buy a new GT premium before x-mas . have 6 or 7 grand ear marked for after market parts. I think i know what i want from the dealer, but not sure about; HID, ambient lighting , make of tire. any does or don'ts about the 08's. should i try and get a new 07 so the after parts will fit vs. the 08 ? anybody in a mustang club on the gulf coast of Al. will be a big help. looking forward to posting with you guys about the build.

Hids and ambient lighting are only available on the 08's I think.

If your financing, go with an 07, should be able to get 0%, otherwise get the 08!

Nice chunk of change for mods, should get it to look or perform spectacularly :D

You could probably upgrade to HID's on your own for cheaper than a dealer will give them for. Stock you get 17's on both 07 and 08 I believe but can upgrade to 18x8.5's(which I actually like for a change lol) or you can spend some and get your own wheels and have more choice of tires. With the stock 18's your pretty much limited to 255/45/18 anything bigger and the tire becomes to big for the wheel.

Is ambient lightling really important?(I'm not trying to be sarcastic its a real question) you will undoubtedly get a better deal on an 07 but if some of those extra goodies are really what you want then go for the 08. Essentially as Howarmat said they are the same car but it going to boil down to you finding everything you want and deciding which of those wants are really important and which ones you can do on your own.

a post said that on a cold air intake mod on a 08 ,the bolt holes on the bracket are not the same as 05-07. bolts on the 08s 4.6L are a diffrent set up. think it was a tacobill post? would realy sux to find out after i get an 08 that the mods i want are going to be slow coming to the 08. i'm sure if it is i'll read about it here. i have 8 hours on this site and learned more about this car than the last 8 weeks of shopping at the dealer.

Get the 07 and save yourself some money for more mods.

The 08 will run more $$ because it doesn't have the incentives on it but I thought it was worth it to be able to order with EVERYTING I wanted. Also, mood lighting and HIDs are pretty cool. My other advice is not to definitely get the Shaker 1000! I'm loving those woofers in the trunk. but it did cut down the golf club storage.
