Mustangs owners have had really bad luck lately. Like in the last month or so, about 20 mustangs have been hurt(including mine)

Tell me about it. There's so much bad Karma flying around I'm afraid to take it out and I still manage to damage it LOL

On Monday I'm installing a 4 post lift in the garage, the way things are I might not risk the Mustang on it........

That sucks! But I'm sure we've all done stupid things like that in the past.

I have a couple of coats of touch up on it now but here's an attempt at getting a shot of it. A couple more coats then I'll have a go with some lightweight wet'n'dry, What's a good "buff" grade? 1200 ???

You should really be sanding clearcoat not touchup paint. I have seen some touchup kits mentioned on this forum that include the base color and the clear. 1200 is ok on the extra clear as long as you leave material to then use 2500 or 3000. After that you can buff by hand but a prof detail shop will get you the best blended in finish with a rotary buffer. Sorry about the incident and good luck with this.
