Any tips on getting mufflers onto hpipe?

Any tips on getting mufflers onto hpipe?
Well i installed my jba axle backs 2 weeks ago and i'm getting a lil rattling noise so i'm gonna pull them and reinstall. I noticed they were not completely on. The notch that goes around the nub on the stock hpipe isnt all the way in. I struggled getting it as far as i did. What worked for everyone else? thanks
