new GT or C6

They are real responsive to mods! Same major brands as you know with Mustang aftermarket parts. They have alot of superchargers to deal with, all the major brands. Mustang-Corvette is apples to oranges, totally different cars. If you have the cash, go for it. I also highly suggest visiting corvetteforum.com to get acquainted.

When it comes down to a Mustang GT or a C6, then it's no contest. I'd get the Corvette, unless I needed extra seats or wanted to sit higher when I drive. I don't know about the 2008, but doesn't the 2007 C6 do the 1/4 in 12.5 seconds?
If you were able to buy the GT-500 for the $40k MSRP, then you might be able to justify it because of the lower cost. With the markup, though, the GT-500 is definitely not worth it. Ford is making a big mistake limiting the GT-500 to so few units.

Funny thing though...
If money came out of my ****, I would have plenty of cars and one of them still be a Mustang!
Not a Vette fan until the C5. The C4 was a piece of crap. The 07 Z06 is great, I mean, you're in Ferrari territory with half the cash.
Corvettes are still a pain in the A## to work on. Typical GM.

I have several stang's on my alltime list, I own 3 of them. My "great pimp" ride would be the not-a-slouch M3 that holds its value well I might add

No arguing with you there...
The great thing with the Mustang and more so for the S197 is that you can mod the heck out of it. In fact, I can't think of any other car on the planet right now, with the same broad range of different parts available to put on a car.
And that's fine by me. That car makes me money and I have a blast in the process.
Me happy maaan.
