My car has about 8k miles on it,I wonder if my cabin filter looks like that. Has anyone replaced the filter and noticed a difference in a/c performance?

Default RE: Cabin Air Intake feeds AC?

is there any schedule for regular changing of the cabin filter?
I figure it depends on how much you use the ac/heat

While a first glance my silly conclusion MIGHT seem to originate from the equally silly location of our cabin air filter.. actually a DEALERSHIP rep said that the CAI might filter the cabin air to me.

That's why I made the thread.

I don't think Ford's regular scervice plan is going to fix unimportant worn parts, I don't know if they would have the courtesy..

Correct me if I am wrong.

ya I'm sure ford's service plan doesn't have a schedule for the cabin filter but I'm sure someone somewhere has an good idea about how often it should be changed

I change the house air filter every three months
but the a/c in the car doesn't run near as much so what a year, 2, 3?

I do understand how the mistake could be made
I keep looking back at the things I though when I was younger we all learn and are better for what we learn
If I posted half of what I thought in high school about cars I'd be flamed so bad

Yes there is a schedule. 12K I think.
Its in your owners manual. It depends on how much you
run the fresh air vent or push the button to recirculate the air and
dont draw any airin from outside. Dirt roads are also a killer.
MossMustang had them on sale for dirt (Pardon the pun)
cheap and I picked up one myself for the future.

If you are drawing air in from the outside, yes it makes a difference, kinda.
If you are recirculating the AC and not drawing any outside air in, such
as MAX-AC mode, then no it does not play a role in how cold it blows.
The filter only filters air coming into the cabin from outside. If you have the
fresh air switch in the fresh air position then this filter is filtering the air
coming into the cabin from outside. Wheeeeeww. My fingers hurt.
