Do we have an 18 Gallon Tank..???

RE: Do we have an 18 Gallon Tank..???
I have never been able to get more than 12.5 gallons in my tank - low level light has never come on but the message center has warned me several times about having 50 miles and then 25 miles left.
Am I really missing out on getting 4 gallons in each time I fill up? If so - why does my gauge not read only 3/4 of tank when I fill up?

gidyup how in the world do you get 27 miles a gallon on an auto gt? I get 18 mpg I have a lead foot but even on my best days and reset the gauge i get maybe 23 or 24..... 17 inch stock for now. I know it will get worse when my 20's come in on Thursday.

My wife drives it 70 miles a day and gets that. She doesn't have a lead foot like I do.I think it has something to do with greater altitude doing something. I know most folks would say that you get more power at sea level, but when we were at sea level. I didn't notice any gains. I think the air is colder up here, (I know it is) and more dense and that has something to do with it as well as my wife driving like the little ole' lady that she is. Also, 35 miles of that is uphill from 8000' up to 10,200 feet. Maybe she gets better gains by coasting downhill on the return trip.
